A level 3 qualification is similar to an A level, and is often achieved in Years 12 and 13 for further education in the UK (a stage of education between compulsory education and higher education at university).

Level 3 qualification generally shows greater knowledge in a subject, and prepare students to advance their knowledge and skills, gained from level 2 courses, for better career prospects or seeking undergraduate level entry at university. 

Level 3 Study Options For Career – Vocational type of Level 3 qualifications equip students with job-specific skills that they can transfer into the workplace, boosting their employability, such Applied learning and Technical qualifications etc.

Level 3 Study Options For University Degree – Acadmic type of Level 3 courses (such as A levels, Access to Higher Education Diplomas, Cambridge Pre-Us, Baccalaureates etc qualifications) prepare students to progress directly onto university degree for higher education.

  • The minimum entry requirements for Level 3 Qualification include five GCSE grades 4/C and above or a Level 2 qualification.
  • After Level 3 studies, students can pursue undergraduate level studies such as Level 4 qualifications (Award, Certificate and Diploma); HNC; HND or a Bachelors degree.
  • After Level 3 qualification, students can either work in specific job industry or pursue higher education to achieve degree for better career prospects.
